Performing what will be this year's Xmas number one.

(5) HONEYZ – End Of The Line
Here with their second of five top ten hits but it got no higher.

(12) ACE OF BASE – Always Have, Always Will
In the studio with their eleventh of twelve top 40 hits but it got no higher.

(17) LUTRICIA McNEAL – The Greatest Love You’ll Never Know
With her fourth and final top 40 hit and it was at its peak.

(3) BILLIE – She Wants You
Performing the third single from her top 20 album, Honey to the B, but it got no higher.

(26) REM – Lotus
In the studio tonight with the second single from their number 2 album, Up, but it got no higher.

(1) B*WITCHED – To You I Belong  (and credits)
Just the one week for their third of four number ones.

Interesting to see REM at No.26 getting a slot ahead of another new entry at No.21 by Fat Les with Naughty Christmas, but to have REM playing in the TOTP studio was as rare as anything, as I don't remember them in the TOTP studio before. Anyway both singles tumbled down the chart the following week.

    At No. 29 was Bing Crosby with White Christmas, and at No.31 was a new entry for UB40 with Holly Holy, and again with both singles also tumbling down the chart the following week.

    1. The No.29 record for 'White Christmas' does make an appearance on the TOTP2 Christmas special that Saturday on the 19th of Dec'98.
