The nights just seem so long baby when you're the 11th of December 1998 edition of Top of the Pops!
Top of the Knocks

Getting tonight's show underway with his first of seven top ten hits as main artist, but this one could get no higher.
(11) MANIC STREET PREACHERS – The Everlasting

ReplyDeleteHas anyone got a copy of The Smash Hits Poll Party 1992 please
The Brandy and Cher songs were later to be American No.1's in 1999 after their initial success in the UK. Brandy had two weeks at No.1 in January, and Cher had 4 weeks at no.1 in March with these singles.
ReplyDeleteNew entries at peak positions further down the chart:
No.34 Simply Red - Ghetto Girl
Unusual to only make No.34 for this group.
No.45 Des Lynam - If
Not sure if this was a version of Telly Savalas's 1975 single of the same name, but wasn't expecting sports presenter Des Lynam to be releasing a single of his own.
No.97 PM Dawn - I Had No Right
Rare single at this point from early 90's legends, as I thought their singles catalogue was over well before 1998.
