  1. The Beastie Boys - Good Lord, this video reminded me of an episode of The Goodies in the early 1970's called Kitten Gong, where a giant cat lunged onto a tower block and caused a lot of structural damage. Anyway The Beastie Boys were by now 11 years following their debut in 1987 with Fight For Your Right To Party, and this new entry at No.5 in 1998 was their first single in four years, and turned out to be their highest ever chart position of No.5.

Just outside the Top 20 this week was a new entry and peak position at No.22 for Blue Pearl with Naked In The Rain '98, a re-recording of their original single in 1990 which reached No.4, but this new version for 1998 did not get high enough for TOTP to give them a play this week.

Also another new entry this week with peak position of No.39 was Eric Clapton with Circus which was the second of two singles released in 1998 for Clapton, both of which only made it to the 30-40 section of the charts.
