Here with her fourth and final top ten hit now at its peak.
(6) OCEAN COLOUR SCENE – The Circle

(NEW) THE POWER STATION – She Can Rock It

(1) FUGEES – Ready Or Not (via satellite)

(TOTP2) THE SWEET – Fox On The Run (clip of TOTP 10-4-75) (and credits)
Number two in 1975.
Chart rundown video - quite liked this one by the new entry at No.4 by BBE - it wa light weird to see a girl in near underwear walking in the night, but it had a good sound to it.
ReplyDeleteElectronic were back with a new entry at No.16 and at peak, but no feature on the show, so missed out on a showing. So too Def Leppard with a new entry and peak position of No.38 with All I Want Is Everything.
The Power Station - surprised to see Robert palmer back in 1996 after two brief singles with this group in 1985. Also no Duran Duran on stage with Palmer in that dashing suit and tie, as Duran Duran were just as featured in The Power Station as Palmer, but I admit it was Palmer's strength in voice that carried this group.
A new entry peaking outside the Top 40 this week at No.52 was Culture Beat with Take Me Away. They couldn't have been more right, as this turned out to be their final single in a three-year run since their debut single Mr Vain topped the charts in 1993. Only a brief re-appearance in 2003 with Mr Vain Recall could only manage a paltry No.51, so this was pretty much it by 1996.

ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteGood Lord, The Video Stir on this show was very watchable. Never knew of this single or video, but very nice.
DeleteIn Recorded For Recall April 1975, it was great to see The Goodies in the TOTP studio with The Funky Gibbon, including Pans People in the background having a go at this unusual dance.
Interesting that the one hit wonder Exile in 1978 had actually been going since 1963, but only had their first chart hit in 1977. Good Lord!
The Tomorrow's Hits sections had cool videos from Celine Dion with a Jim Steinman epic, and LL Cool J with a cool new single, and more of the video played on here than on the following week's main TOTP as a new entry at No.7.
Thanks Rob!
