Making their studio debut with their first of nine top ten hits and this one was at its peak.

(1) WILL SMITH – Men In Black (video)

(NEW) GEORGE MICHAEL – You Have Been Loved (live clip) (and credits)
Will peak at number 2.
This episode came out only a few days after the death of Princess Diana, as Zoe Ball eluded to when introducing the George Michael song at the end of the show. I'm surprised that a new TOTP show was produced that week, considering the nation was in mourning, and music and dancing was not in most people's frame of mind.
ReplyDeleteOcean Colour Scene - really liked this, especially the PP Arnold contribution on vocals, and this would have been PP's first appearance in the TOTP studio since 1988 when she was featured on vocals with The Beatmasters in a very different music style, but it was interesting that PP was not listed on this Ocean Colour Scene track, as the Beatmasters did on theirs, as PP was an even larger contribution this time round in 1997.
