ReplyDeleteThanks Rob!!!
DeleteQuite a good TOTP2 this one, with Recorded For Recall from 1974 with Bill Haley performing n the TOTP studio at the age of 49, and he would have been 100 this year, but sadly died in 1981 at the age of 55.
DeleteAlso from this 1974 collection, Mungo Jerry were on their final single, having graced the charts with regular hits since 1970 with their No.1 debut single In The Summertime.
In the Chart Prediction section we get to see the Blur video and single predicted to go straight in at No.1 the following week, which it did, with a TOTP studio performance by Blur, so good to see the video only on TOTP2 the week before crashing in at No.1 as a new entry.
Hello Rob could you post the links here for totp2 23.12.96 and 21.12.95 please?
DeleteSorry I can't the dates the wrong way round. 23.12.95 and 21.12.96

Thank you very much Rob. I'll watch those later this evening.
DeleteChart rundown video - En Vogue seem to be getting better all the time since coming on to the scene in 1990 with the famous No.5 debut single Hold On. Now seven years on in 1997, it's amazing they have still stayed together, but in the video they seemed to have moved on from girls to women, and much more classy in their style of dress. However, 1997 would be their last strong year with three Top 20 singles.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone spot on the chart rundown that Enigma were back with a new entry and new single at No.26 called Beyond The Invisible, as this was their first single in nearly three years, and exactly six years after their debut single Sadeness Pt1 made No.1 in January 1991.
However this brief comeback by Enigma in 1997 was short-lived with only two singles barely troubling the charts, before calling it a day by April with one more single that could only make No.60, so essentially this was their last Top 40 single on this week's chart.
En Vogues single was my favourite of theirs. Did like Suede. They had some great songs out.
