One group now on their last single was OMD with a new entry this week with Universal with a peak position of No.55, marking the end of a 16-year chart career for this group going back to 1980 with their first single Enola Gay which was probably their most famous one.
ReplyDeleteOnly a Remixes EP was released in 1998, but here in 1996 the curtain comes down on one of the best pop groups to grace the charts from the 80s.

ReplyDeleteCheers!
DeleteHighlight of this show was Chicago's If You Leave Me Now at No.3 on a late October TOTP show, on its way to No.1 on a couple of wiped TOTP show's with them at the top spot, with the only surviving show when at the top spot, being on their third week at No.1 in a show presented by Jimmy Saville.
DeleteThe official video of this Chicago track and the one shown on TOTP, looks like it is from an American TV show, but never knew which one if anyone knows?
Thanks Rob. Not sure how I missed these, but does anybody have the 21.9.1996 and 14.9.1996 TOTP 2 episodes that they can share? Sorry for being so late on these
DeleteThanks Rob!!!
ReplyDeleteThe East 17 ft Gabrielle track at No.2, should have been Gebrielle ft East 17, as the song was more like a Gabrielle track than East 17 in music style in their pop careers up to now.
