  1. This episode had seven new entries in the Top 10, and TOTP decided to show No Doubt again when going down to No.6, at the expense of three new entries in the Top 10 which got no show, especially Orbital's new entry at No.3 with The Saint.

    A couple of interesting new singles peaking outside The top 40 this week:

    No.60 Enigma - TNT For The Brain
    Second of two singles in a 1997 comeback year after no music since 1994, and this turned out to be their last single, stretching back to 1990 with Sadeness Part 1 which managed a solitary week at No.1 in January 1991.

    No.88 Kenny G - The Mixes
    First new single since 1993, and most remembered with Songbird which reached No.22 in the summer of 1987. One more single in late 1997 managed to equal his best ever chart position of No.22, which turned out to be his final single.
