  1. Great to see Lisa L'Ansan back on presenting duties, as she does tend to light up the show on her own, as I couldn't find any of the performers or videos on the show worth commenting on.

Apart from the Top 40 chart rundown of course, where I noticed four new entries, all at peak, and missed out on a TOTP showing this week:

No.18 The Sex Pistols - Pretty Vacant (live)
I presume this was on the back of their recent TOTP studio performances at the end of a recent show, and also 20 years since they burst onto the scene in 1976.

No.30 The Nightcrawlers - Keep On Pushing Our Love
Another one featuring John Reid of course in the artist name credits. Final single for them in the 1995-96 era that they enjoyed relatively good success. One more single three years later in 1999 did not trouble the Top 40, and that was pretty much it.

No.31 The Who - My Generation
I'm guessing this second re-issue was for the 30th anniversary of the original in 1965-66, as their last new material chartwise, you would have to go back to 1983.

No.34 Julian Cope - I Come From Another Planet Baby
Penultimate single for Cope, going back 15 years since coming on to the scene with The Teardrop Explodes in 1981 with Reward, which was Cope's best ever single I thought.

    1. As I recall, The Sex Pistols reformed in 1996 for some shows at Finsbury Park, hence the re-release of Pretty Vacant

  2. This was a bang average episode. Suede were the highlight, Joyrider are the better of the cover versions. Anyone know why Josh Wink dropped the Josh?
