    4. The Marti Caine footage of SWW I have on file (it's the master dub of what can be found on YouTube in lower quality). It originated from a former band member who loaned his tapes to get digitized. If you would like it uploading I can sort it.

    2. Thanks, these Montreux shows are great. Do you have any other of them from 1986 or is that all?

      Delete
    3. It's interesting that the footage of Frankie smashing up their gear is the re-edited censored version (in slow motion), as per the repeat from back then. The original transmission went out with a different edit at the end.

      Delete
    4. There was a fifth show recorded at the event. The Montreux Golden Rose IMMC Gala was broadcast on 10/05/86. Some of the performances are not on any of the four Rock Festival shows. As Eddie said some footage is edited differently with alternative camera shots used at times. There are no end credits on "Rage Hard" and Frankie thrashing the stage at the end of "Warriors" is not in slow motion.
The lower res file is available now.

  24. This is my off-air of The Brits 1996.
Please note, as I say it was taken from a "dying" VHS cassette.
Not of the quality which I've shared here previously, as there was analogue interference (wavey lines), which did seem to often plague my Channel 4 viewing at the time.
That said, it's watchable and highly enjoyable.

  25. Thanks Eddie Riff, for the Brits 96, yeah the quality was good, I remember the 80 and 90's with analogue TV and using a booster for the signal, then when recording sometimes a motorbike or car outside driving past would cause interference and yes there was always wavy lines. Nice to see those adverts and Bowie's performance.

BTW If it's ok, is it possible to leave XR4 link uploads available a bit longer if you don't need the space, please - maybe a 12 hour window on uploads? I'm probably not the only one benefitting from other requests (and check a few times a day) but some requests go from upload to removal so fast that due to work/sleep they've gone (and you're already doing so many that additional requests for re-ups seems a bit much to ask). 3. Hello Eddie, thanks so much for those, very much appreciated (and also because it saves XR4 a job). BTW I'm missing some of the same 70-78 TOTP as you but can't dl on Mondays at the time you do, so if you and Anonymous (and XR4) don't mind can you leave them up a bit longer and I'll just add a thank you note when I've got them.
Thanks again to you and Anon & XR4 :)

      Delete
    4. Hi, Dave.
Yes, about three weeks ago I was asked to notify when I'd grabbed them, so for whatever reason they were taken from the server after I had done.
Which episodes do you need, Dave? I'll upload them now for you. :-)

      Delete
    5. Hey Eddie
There's so many requests now and limited server space (and not everyone dl's that fast or was adding a note to say they'd dl'd) that Anonymous is very conscientious about trying to remove TOTP's ASAP to make space for XR4 requests, so as soon as you said you had dl'd them (quicker than usual) they went.

I'm missing quite a few 70-78 TOTP (been watching BBC4 since '79 rpts and dl'ing from here since the new year) and wanted to request some but there's been a steady trickle from other requestees so didn't want to add to Anon's workload.
I know roughly what I'm missing but haven't a complete gap-list yet (as I wasn't requesting yet) so thanks for the offer of uploads but if it's ok I'll see exactly what I'm missing before I request anything from anyone.
Just a thought but - and if Anon is ok with this - either you could continue requesting and I'll benefit from those and then later request any gap-fillers (from you/Anon) or if it seems I'm missing more I can request and you benefit (and have less gap-filling to do) and we can both add a thank you to the same post to let Anon know we're done. What do you think? :)

But (first things first) better ask the person who's going to make this possible...
Hello Anonymous, would it be ok to request some gap-filler archive TOTP from 70-78, please? There could be a few dozen (depending on availability) but if that's ok how many eps per request is ok and do you have a preferred request time/day for this (apart from Friday as I'm already taking up space with an XR4 request)?
      Thanks very much :)

      Delete
    6. By coincidence, I was going to request half a dozen or so pre-'76 shows in a couple of days. :-)

      Delete
    7. Yep request away, say 8 eps per request, will get thru them soon as can. Obvs im using xr4 server for larger files, we transfer only offers 2gb always try to use we transfer giving 7days but not always poss. I dont have specific days or times.

    8. That's good to know, many thanks.

    9. Hi Anonymous
That's great, thank you for that. It'll take me a few days to find what I've already got (and try and find out what still exists to request) and make up a list so if you don't mind...
Eddie do you want to go ahead with your request on Monday and I'll put in one on Tuesday and also let you know what I'll be requesting then and make a plan from there?
      Thanks again :)

      Delete
    10. Sure. It'll be the evening or late afternoon (UK time), as I'm out most of the day. If things are still busy here, I'll wait until it's possibly a little quieter. :)

  39. Hello all,

I was curious if the 1980-01-12 edition of Tiswas featuring Elvis Costello and the Attractions was available? It looks like a fun program. If so, I'd enjoy seeing it. Thanks in advance again.

    1. Yes, Tiswas 12/01/1980 is available now if you have the link.

    2. Tiswas led - others tried to follow.
The Holy Grail of Tiswas for me is 27/9/80. Madness appeared on the show, with the two vocalists, Suggs and Chas high on acid and dressed as a pair of clowns. Sally James attempted to interview them, whilst getting silly string in her face from them. Suggs attempted to rescue the situation, pulling out Sally's false eyelashes in the process. Sax player Lee Thompson also bit a kid's arm.

Madness and the whole of Stiff Records were banned from the programme as a consequence!

I clearly remember seeing this at the time & much of the dialogue, plus I even had an off-air audio of it, which I recorded at the time. Sadly the tape wore out. I hope one day someone puts up their hand up with a recording of it, as I know it's "missing" or "wiped".

It's on the "most wanted" list of Tiswas and Maddie fans alike.

    3. xrayfour, Thanks so much for the Tiswas show. Again, I appreciate it.

    4. Eddie, Wow, that Madness Tiswas episode sounds like quite a program!

      Delete
    5. We live in hope Eddie! They'd been partying with The Specials the night before and hadn't slept apparently. They'd nabbed the clown-like garb from the ATV Costume Department and headed straight onto the train back to London like that. The ban wasn't permanent in the end as Suggs and Chas ended up back on the show in February 1982.

    8/8/74

25/3/76 (archived I believe as an off-air recovery)
+ Sight & Sound In Concert: Ian Dury & The Music Students 24/3/84, if it's available at all?

Thinking of the Whistle Test request from earlier today, I have the 4 reels of the New Year's Eve '85 edition. Did any more of the Madness concert get recorded from that evening & filed seperately (similar to the Gary Glitter concert a couple of years later)?
