(4) D.J. JURGEN presents ALICE DEEJAY – Better Off Alone
The only hit for the duo and it will peak at number 2.
(10) MADNESS – Lovestruck
A second studio performance and the song was now at its peak.
(47) THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS – Hey Boy Hey Girl (Exclusive Mix) (video)
Had already peaked at number 3.
(1) RICKY MARTIN – Livin’ La Vida Loca (and credits)
Third and final week at number one.

A dance-heavy show this one, but before that, Elvis Costello opened the show with a Charles Aznavour cover of She from 1974, and here in 1999 this was 20 years after Costello went to No.2 with Olivers Army in 1979.
ReplyDeleteOnto the dance extravaganza, and I really liked The 3 Jays - never heard this tune before, but what a great dance vibe this had. Love it, and the two girl dancers on stage which I thought were brilliant, and danced superbly.
Pet Shop Boys - another new single and still going strong after 14 years since their debut, with interesting new hairstyle on Neil Tennant.
Clock had anew entry this week at No.58 with Sunshine Day, which having not heard it yet, I guess it was a cover of the Osibisa classic from the mid-70s.
