    1. Cheers Rob,
      Was a 28/03/1998 edition broadcast?
Or was it a crufts/snooker/test card week?

  2. The Wombles - I don't remember them coming back in 1998, but this was brilliant. My earliest memories of them was in 1974 when I was 6, and they were a regular fixture on BBC1 children's programmes along with the test card every night when the TV channels closed down at midnight every day.

I wonder why the Wombles returned with the same song in 1998 apart from there fact that they were promoting their greatest hits album, and was it the same 1974 personnel in those outfits, but just 24 years older in 1998, and was there some sort of renaissance in The Wombles in the 90s generation?

Kylie Minogue - don't recall this one, but the video is very smooth.

Also noticed a new entry and peak position of No.18 for Iron Maiden with The Angel & The Gambler. By 1998, most song titles and storylines were of feelings and love, and not about people and places, but this type of song title was very common place in the 70s and 80s before the lack of imagination set in, and you had to have a song title about how you feel about yourself or someone else.

    1. The Wombles were celebrating their 30th anniversary in 1998 so possibly that. There had also been a new animated series shown in 1997 and 98 on ITV which may have started a revival
