Yes, now uploading. 2005/6 are ready. With 2005 there were several that not avalible to me, but i have good versions from off air. 2006 archive copies complete good sizes though couple in low res. Request away.

Hi Anonymous thanks for all your hard work in sharing the many shows you have . Just an idea but if you want I could help in sharing some shows not available all day but will be around My HDD usually after 7pm If you want i could help out KDX_125 later on . As regards the file size it is great to see in high quality but if space is a problem have you tried The APP Handbrake it is great for compressing large files before sharing and for storage When you get space can i ask for 25.12.07 and 31.12.09 to end off up to 2010 thanks

If I may be so bold as to offer a potential solution?
Most of the requesters here are regulars, but the issue seems to be there's a lot of overlaps between Years.
I notice from the previous Uploads2 page there's complete Years with no expiry date on them, so perhaps a better way might be for fellow regulars here to signpost future requesters directly to complete folders instead if requested.
For example, after a cursory glance through the last page, there's a few complete Years previously linked..

I feel sure the posters here would be only too happy to help re-post links for you given the amount of time you've spent doing this for us. :-)
The good thing about doing it this ^ way is it would save you having to go through the rigmarole of uploading individual episodes again.
Depends how much WeTransfer allowance you have, but it's probably the best way of maximising room if space allows.
It's only a constructive suggestion though anonymous and I'm sure I speak for all here by being extremely grateful for what you've done.. :-)
I'd say signposting would be the best way round it and least hassle for yourself, but the only difficulty might be for us forumites to find individual episodes within posts, compared to folders containing complete Years or batches of complete Years which can easily be bookmarked.
If I was you (and again it's only a suggestion), I'd keep the requests for individual shows you've uploaded so far on *this* page but let them expire after 7-14 days or whatever, free up your WeTransfer allowance by deleting from the previous upload pages *with the exception of posts containing complete Years*, and begin with, e.g. 1976 onwards and so on for easy bookmarking.
I think it would save you a load of hassle with re-requests in the longer run and having complete Years linked would make it easier for us to help you :-)
In the meantime, perhaps a few of us might be happy to go through the two previous TOTP Upload pages to look for any complete Years you might have posted so far, in addition to the Years '79-'82?
Meer has been working through a lot of the later ones with you, so they should be relatively easy to spot ;-)
Again it's only a suggestion, but I think a few of us would be happy to look out for you considering you've been so kind to us and to help share the load.

Yes i was gonna tell you that i uploaded complete year, maybe check before asking again! As for higher quality there is nothing wrong with quality of that file! It may be smaller size but best around. Having thought alot over last few days, i will be stepping down from uploading here. I am fed up with constant criticsm over stuff ive spent months and months supplying hours on end and i've had enough.
Nobody is criticizing you Anonymous, you have been doing a great job, as TOTP Collectors we always look for a better version and WildeRocker was only asking if you had better version, as I've know you to sometimes upload a better version.....It would be a shame for you to leave, maybe 5 or less requests from each person on a weekly bias to unload the workload.
Shame there will be no more contributions from Anonymous, I know many people who always upgrade to a superior quality compared to a previous version, we are all grateful for these posts and it's always a pleasure to find a great quality video, especially with those bonus interviews etc. Vintage Top Of The Pops holds gives us that Nostalgia, and with me growing up in the 70's with a black and white TV, It's great to see them all in colour.
Maybe create a daily post where one episode is uploaded, everyone leaves a comment/request and that way Anonymous you won't be run off your feet with the constant bombardment of requests.
Anonymous it is frustrating when some people are never happy no matter how much you do . I just want to say thanks for all the uploads , and hope you do stick around here.

I was in PM's with the person that does these, apparently some vt files are better than others for enhancing. Some come out really good while others not so. Something to do with size as the small sizes aren't great for that.
if anyone wants i can convert their files from anonymous to stereo with no picture quality loss since like i have said before the ones with two audio tracks can be mixed back up to it, i have some saved anyway but happy to help with any others may require it
stereo versions of 05/11/87 08/08/91 and 02/06/89 to start off with, dont know why anonymous didnt just convert these stereo files while re-encoding beforehand but here they are
Technically speaking, if you duplicate the mono soundtrack into two channels you'll still only have twin-channel mono, as you can't put in what didn't exist in the first place, only simulate what was there.
If the video with a mono soundtrack is being put through Adobe Premiere Pro, there's an export setting into a form of Stereo, or an audio effect called "Fill right with left" and vice-versa, but again it's only ever going to be dual channel mono.
The video file, even in mono, will play in it's original form through any number of channels with a surround sound system & you can probably obtain a similar effect without adjusting the video file and without the risk of degredation of video quality, by simply setting the amplifier to "All Channel Stereo" or a similar setting such as "Concert hall" or whatever.
There's a piece on it here, but for what it's worth I'd say be grateful to Anonymous for uploading the originals.
Anonymous would be a massive loss to the thread if they stopped posting, so give it a break folks, eh?
Popping back in just to say it's sad to see Anonymous refusing some his uploads, despite the majority of people saying nothing wrong, but then if that's how he sees fit moving forward so be it. Judging from what things have been said on both sides here, I think lockdown 3.0 is getting to some of us myself!
However a massive thanks to everyone that's soldiering on with the uploads even when you don't have to - unlike some people, I think many here are doing it for the gain of others and not themselves. Particularly special thanks to A S K, if it were not for their comments I wouldn't of known about the mono soundtracks that can be easily changed back to stereo in an audio editing program 👍

I found 10/06/1982 on this complete 1982 list (https://we.tl/t-mM8tEJHcda), but it's only 209MB, If someone has a higher quality, can they please upload it.
ReplyDeleteYes i was gonna tell you that i uploaded complete year, maybe check before asking again! As for higher quality there is nothing wrong with quality of that file! It may be smaller size but best around. Having thought alot over last few days, i will be stepping down from uploading here. I am fed up with constant criticsm over stuff ive spent months and months supplying hours on end and i've had enough.
ReplyDeleteNobody is criticizing you Anonymous, you have been doing a great job, as TOTP Collectors we always look for a better version and WildeRocker was only asking if you had better version, as I've know you to sometimes upload a better version.....It would be a shame for you to leave, maybe 5 or less requests from each person on a weekly bias to unload the workload.

ReplyDeleteShame there will be no more contributions from Anonymous, I know many people who always upgrade to a superior quality compared to a previous version, we are all grateful for these posts and it's always a pleasure to find a great quality video, especially with those bonus interviews etc.
ReplyDeleteVintage Top Of The Pops holds gives us that Nostalgia, and with me growing up in the 70's with a black and white TV, It's great to see them all in colour.
Maybe create a daily post where one episode is uploaded, everyone leaves a comment/request and that way Anonymous you won't be run off your feet with the constant bombardment of requests.

I was in PM's with the person that does these, apparently some vt files are better than others for enhancing. Some come out really good while others not so. Something to do with size as the small sizes aren't great for that.
The person said I could post a few anyway.
if anyone wants i can convert their files from anonymous to stereo with no picture quality loss since like i have said before the ones with two audio tracks can be mixed back up to it, i have some saved anyway but happy to help with any others may require it

DeleteWhat process are you using to change files from mono to stereo ASK?
DeleteMaybe sellotape or blutak??
DeleteTechnically speaking, if you duplicate the mono soundtrack into two channels you'll still only have twin-channel mono, as you can't put in what didn't exist in the first place, only simulate what was there.
DeleteIf the video with a mono soundtrack is being put through Adobe Premiere Pro, there's an export setting into a form of Stereo, or an audio effect called "Fill right with left" and vice-versa, but again it's only ever going to be dual channel mono.
The video file, even in mono, will play in it's original form through any number of channels with a surround sound system & you can probably obtain a similar effect without adjusting the video file and without the risk of degredation of video quality, by simply setting the amplifier to "All Channel Stereo" or a similar setting such as "Concert hall" or whatever.
There's a piece on it here, but for what it's worth I'd say be grateful to Anonymous for uploading the originals.
Anonymous would be a massive loss to the thread if they stopped posting, so give it a break folks, eh?

ReplyDeletePopping back in just to say it's sad to see Anonymous refusing some his uploads, despite the majority of people saying nothing wrong, but then if that's how he sees fit moving forward so be it. Judging from what things have been said on both sides here, I think lockdown 3.0 is getting to some of us myself!
