Performing their third and final top ten hit but it got no higher.

(15) MAXI PRIEST feat. SHAGGY – That Girl
In the studio but the song go no higher.

(NEW) BLACK GRAPE – England’s Irie
With Joe Strummer and Keith Allen, this will become the band's fourth and final top ten hit when it peaks at number 6.

Third of five weeks at number one.

  1. I thought Julia Carling did a great job as presenter, and highlight of the show was Mariah Carey's new entry at No.3 as the chart rundown video, and yet another top 10 single, but it looks like a year-long layoff after this single in the UK charts at least.

    Some interesting new entries at peak position just outside the Top 40 this week:

    No.43 Dean Martin - That's Amore
    First single for 27 years since his last single Gentle On My Mind reached No.2 in early 1969. I'm assuming this single was released due to his passing a few months earlier around Christmas 1995.

    No.82 Hazell Dean - The Winner Takes It All
    Another Dean! Not sure if this was a cover of the famous 1980 Abba No.1 single, but this was Hazell's first single in five years since a No.72 peak in 1991, and here in 1996 doing less well.

    No.86 Gary Clail - Another Hard Man
    First single for Clail since 1993 with a No.45 single at best position, so also doing less well in 1996.
