    1. I downloaded the 20 February edition but there is a problem with the picture as it keeps freezing. Is there another link?

27 February edition doesn’t have that issue

    2. As ever cheers Rob.

@Anonymous I had a quick flick through before watching it tomorrow and couldn't see any freezing.
Do you have any timestamps of any freezing?

It does contain my guilty pleasure though. The Goombay Dance Band, Seven Tears :)

  3. The 15/04/76 & 29/04/76 episodes of TOTP (that wasn't shown tonight on BBC Four)

Both of them were edited in 2011, only the first episode had Silver Convention, The Beatles and The Three Degrees missing.

The second episode was also edited in 2011 which had Silver Convention, Gladys Knight & the Pips, and Pan's People's final appearance which had a solo routine of 'Silver Star'.

    1. 15/04/76 episode - the highlight for me was the Isaac Hayes single Disco Connection, danced to by Pans People. I couldn't quite decide which I liked more - the song by Hayes or the dancing by a sexy Pans People. Equal points to both!

The other highlight was the 1930s cartoon promo by Silver Convention. The cartoon footage went so well with the disco sound, it was right up there with the Isaac Hayes tunes earlier in this DLT presented show.

Eric Carmen's studio performance on this show was likely recorded the week before on the Noel Edmonds introduced show, as Noel interviewed Carmen, and the same clothing on the DLT show points to the fact that it was recoded on the TOTP show of 08-04-76 with Noel Edmonds.

    2. 29/04/76 episode - last ever show for Pans People, and I noticed that by now in 1976 they were down to only four girls, so it was hardly surprising that it was coming to an end, snd ready to evolve to Ruby Flipper by the next show, with Sue and Cherry still interested in continuing.

ELO - still on the Face The Music album releases where Jeff Lynne hadn't yet donned the indoor glasses, and on this performance with Kelly Groucutt given a share of lead vocals, and looking a lot like Jeff Lynne, it was no surprise that on the next single after this, from the New World Record album, JL donned the legendary sunglasses for the first time, so there could be no confusing the two lead singers, and that JL would stand out from the rest of the group for the rest of the ELO catalogue till 1986.

Diana Ross - love this single and video, as it had the whole essence of the smooth 70s sound pre-heavy disco era, where the smoother romantic loved-filled side of the early 70s was still hanging in there in 1976 before dance took over soon after.
