A Little Bit More Top of the Pops

 When you think I've loved you all I can I'm gonna love the 22nd January 1999 edition of Top of the Pops!


Is this the way to Top of the Pops?

Had already peaked at number 3.

(2) ANOTHER LEVEL – I Want You For Myself
In the studio tonight but could get no higher.

(10) THE ALL-SEEING I feat. TONY CHRISTIE – Walk Like A Panther
With their only top ten hit and it was at its peak.

(17) JULIET ROBERTS – Bad Girls
Performing her seventh and final top 40 hit but it got no higher.

(11) 3 COLOURS RED – Beautiful Day
Here with their fifth of six top 40 hits, and also their biggest hit, but it got no higher.

(6) BRYAN ADAMS & MELANIE C – When You’re Gone
Still in the top ten having long since peaked at number 3.

(5) EMMIE – More Than This
In the studio with this Roxy Music cover which was her only top 40 hit and it was at its peak.

(1) 911 – A Little Bit More  (and credits)
With their only number one and this Dr Hook cover was there for just one week.

  1. In a show with two 70s and one 80s covers, the only one that came off well was Juliet Roberts, as the four sexy backing singers in the red minidresses retrieved the song than if Roberts did it on her own, as it would otherwise not have stood up well to the Donna Summer original.

    While 911 tried to similar with four female violinists, they did not have the same impact as the four backing singers on the Juliet Roberts single, but it did have the accolade of going one place better at No.1 compared to the peak of No.2 with the Dr Hook original from 1976.

    As for Emmie's cover of Roxy Music's More Than This, I would just say big yawn. Good Lord!
