    1. Still disappointing to see that BBC4 is still pasting over the Grease video at No.1 with the Legs & Co routine which was when as a new entry at No.23 in May, before it got to No.1 in June, as this June 1978 show was aired with the movie video.

The other point to note was Kid Jensen correctly mentioning that Grease movie was due to arrive in UK cinemas in September, so with all the 9 weeks at No.1 through the summer of 1978 for this single, it wasn't until the Commodores were at No.1 in September, that the Grease movie finally arrived in cinemas.

It is usually the other way round, that is the movie comes out first and then the individual song clips are released, but it was not the case with this first single released from the movie.

You can check out the 22-6-78 episode - rather than YouTube. This episode was only shown over a year ago on BBC4 as part of the heritage repeats line-up.

    2. It was a great bonus to see that edition again and a fitting tribute to Ozzy. I enjoyed watching the females at the front who got into it even though metal was probably not their thing! They certainly had some tunes. A shame they didn't also add the clip of Paranoid from Sept '70. It did get shown in a compilation of Birmingham pop music I think as part of the Commonwealth Games coverage a couple of years ago. Hopefully that will get another showing

    1. The 21-2-98 TOTP2 showed the 1983 Spandau Ballet studio performance of Communication which is where the guitarist in the group famously walked backwards into Tony Hadley just as Hadley was about to start his lines. I remember seeing that TOTP at the time in 1983, and it was a talking point in school at the time.

  5. I loved the Shania Twain song. I remember it got lots of airplay at the time. Great debut from Cornershop.
