(7) LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY – High
A third time in the studio with a tune that had peaked at number 4.

(4) RADIOHEAD – No Surprises  (from Later With Jools Holland)
Third single from their number one album, OK Computer, and it was at its peak.

(11) OTT – Story Of Love
Performing their fourth and final top 40 hit, and it got no higher.

(5) IAN BROWN – My Star
Making his solo debut with his first of three top ten hits but this one got no higher.

(NEW) BACKSTREET BOYS – All I Have To Give
Here with what will become a number 2 hit.

(1) OASIS – All Around The World  (video)  (and credits)
First and only week at number one.

  1. At 9 minutes and 38 seconds, All Around the World is the longest number one single of all time!

I haven't commented for a while, but I'm still enjoying these reruns. 1998 was a big year for me, turned 18, left home for uni, went to my first festival (v98) and a ton of gigs so a lot of good memories of that year. Radiohead, Ian Brown and Oasis were standouts from this ep. Is Ian Brown still a conspiracy theorist? Oasis, Stone Roses and Radiohead were ones that got away from that era in terms of acts I saw live. Although I didn't see Blur until years later either.

    1. Despite not seeing Stone Roses, I knew I'd seen both Ian Brown and the Seahorses so apparently they were both at v98!

  5. Radiohead, Oasis and Ian Brown from The Stones Roses making up a good edition. Not long until Oasis start their tour as well.
