    1. ELO - Interesting edit just before the end of the song, which looks like it was at original airing, not at this weekend's BBC4 repeat.

Emerson Lake & Palmer - the start of the tune sounded more for a show opener than a show closer!

  2. Two new entries at peak position further down the chart and out of the TOTP range:

No.28 The Beastie boys - Alive
Last single for five years, as their next single would not be until 2004. The video had a sort of Teletubbies look about it in terms of the coloured outfits on the boys.

    No.55 Lou Bega - I Got A Girl
The only follow-up single to Mambo No.5, which could only manage a No.55 position, and was never heard of again, so this you can say was a true one-hit wonder with their summer 1999 No.1.

19-12-1999 TOTP New Chart has a parody of Millennium Prayer on it.

25-12-1999 is a Christmas Singalong on BBC Choice

    31-12-1999 is TOTP2 Reviews the 90s.

    1. Cheers Rob. Its like Xmas with all these extra treats you are giving us!

How many episodes of TOTP New Chart were made? I can't see anything about it online except on wiki, it states:
      TOTP The New Chart (5 December 1999 – 26 March 2000)
Anyone know why is was canned?

  4. Did anyone see Mylene Klass as a backing vocalist on the Cliff song? A year or so before Popstars.
